My girlfriend Cheryl and I took the Vatican Tour on April 9, 2008. It was by far the best tour that I have ever taken. Maya was our guide and the amount of knowledge that she afforded us was unremarkable. She not only explained what we were seeing but enhanced that with such incredible artistic interpretation and history such that by the time we got to the Sistine Chapel, I was able to experience and feel the beauty and energy that went into the images. I last saw the Sistine Chapel 40 years ago and one of the reasons for returning to Rome was to see it since its restoration. Maya made that decision more than worthwhile. She has a great sense of humor and a fantastic personality and she clearly loves not only the art and history, but sharing that knowledge with others. I will always look to Presto Tours in the future.

I did the Vatican tour on Saturday afternoon April 5 and must say that it
was conducted with a level of professionalism and excellence that exceeded
my expectations. Our guide Ryan was simply outstanding in the way he
interacted with the group and directed the details of the tour. I was truly
amazed at the depth of his knowledge, his highly articulate presentation
style and his willingness to patiently answer a variety of questions by the
group. Thank you for a marvelous experience! If all your guides are this
good I cannot imagine booking such tours with anyone but you on my future
trips to Italy.

Our tour of the Vatican with our guide, Ryan, was the best tour we have ever been on anywhere. Ryan had an excellent command of the subject, and connected the historical dots for us in a way that we understood the subject as well as was possible in three hours. We will again use Presto when in Rome.

LOVED HER. I have been the the vatican 2 other times, and this tour by far was the best. She was very thorough and funny. She made it very easy to follow. The four other people in my group said that the Vatican tour was the highlight of the Rome experience. We had another tour of the Ruins, and your tour and tour guide was much more entertaining. I will be recommending your company for this type of excursion for anyone whom I know going to visit the Vatican.

Just a short note to say that we had a fantastic Vatican tour on Tuesday 1st April. Our guide was Liz and she was great, please thank her for us, and tell her we tried both the pizza place near the Vatican for lunch and the following day Est Est Est near our hotel, we were delighted with both recommendations.
Both Liz and Aubrey were very friendly and professional.
Our two teenage children said it was the best day we had in Rome. We would not hesitate to use Presto Tours again,and recommend you to friends and family.

I went on the tour with my parents, and it was definitely one of their highlights of the trip to Rome. Michael (from Chicago) was our tour guide, we found him absolutely great! He was really professional, knowledgeable and had a very nice way of interacting with the group, particularly children. Without such an experienced and enthusiastic guide we wouldn't have enjoyed the Vatican tour half as much. The content and pace of the tour was just right, it didn't dwell too long over any area or gloss over anything that seemed important and Michael was very approachable for extra information. I would definitely recommend Presto tours again. The only thing I would suggest as an improvement is directions to the tour starting point, perhaps a sign pointing down the steps?

We arrived back in Ireland on Friday late evening from our Rome trip. Our tour to the Vatician museum Sistine chapel and St Peters Basicila was the highlight of our holiday. I had read about how excellent Ryan was in your reviews before I booked, and he certainly surpassed our expectations, his dedication and passion for Art and Rome is endless, we hung on every word he said, his knowledge on the sculptors and artwork was amazing, I would recommend Presto tours and Ryan to anybody visiting Rome.

Liz, my Vatican tour guide was great! Her knowledge was superb and her sense of humor appropriate and appreciated. It's nice when someone can put a normal human sense on these majestic artists from a time long gone. I only wish I had time to do another tour or two with your company.

I cannot praise our guide, Jay, highly enough. He was incredibly informative, but also managed to make the huge amount of information he shared with us interesting by including many amusing anecdotes. His enthusiasm and love of the Vatican Museums was infectious. We were also impressed by his thoughtfulness; my elderly parents managed to keep up and he always waited for us! The small group size (13) was also good and made a big difference as there was time for questions. It was such a contrast to a perfectly dreadful tour experience we had had the day before at the Colosseum, sold by a ticket tout; groups of 50, unintelligible commentary, no opportunity for questions, broken headphones... nightmare! As this is my parents first (and probably last) visit to Italy, I was particularly anxious it would be a positive experience for them - it exceeded expectations. The booking experience was also very positive. So, many thanks!

We’re happy to say that we really enjoyed our Presto tour around the Vatican Museum, Sistine chapel and St Peters Basilica with our guide Mia. It was great being in a small tour of 14, especially compared to the other groups of 40+ we saw who seemed to struggle everywhere and were strung out across galleries etc. Mia was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic, she clearly enjoyed the subject of art history and conveyed the information simply and clearly. She was sensitive to the groups needs, including our 9 and 13 year olds who afterwards remembered much of what she said and felt that it had been “cool”. Mia used a lot of humour as well as engaged in debate about different opinions regarding the nature of how the Vatican came to have all of the treasures it does!! She also knew when to give the group space and to move on / change location because people had had enough. All in all we thought she was great, the tour was excellent and gave good value overall – we’d recommend it.

Our vatican tour was tickets only, no tour. This in itself was perfect, it enabled us to skip the queue and then go round at our own pace. The colleseum tour - Michael was our guide. He was perfect, upbeat, humerous and made the 3 hours whizz by. A very enjoyable experience.

Hi Tom, I really enjoyed the Presto Tour and Iggy was an excellent source of knowledge.
One minor piece of feedback which perhaps might have made the tour better - Iggy walked very quickly ahead of the group at times and I have to say I struggled to keep up with him and i'm under 40!.. there were a couple of people in the group who i'm sure found it difficult to keep up.
Other than that it was excellent - Iggy's knowledge and his passion for the subject matter were superb!

Your guided tour of the Vatican was the highlight of our trip. I cannot praise it highly enough.
Federica [apologies if the spelling is wrong] was a wonderful guide. She was clearly very well informed and passionate about the subject. She encouraged the group to ask questions and in addition to to the historical facts on the art, the papacy and the politics of the times, she also gave us some unusual anecotes that we would not have found in the mainstream tourist information. This was exactly what we were looking for from this tour.
We will be staying in and around Sorrento and Naples in the summer and will be visiting Pompeii and Herculaneum, we will certainly check to see if your company does any tours in these areas.
Once again, we cannot praise you enough for the quality of this tour.

Our Guide for the Vatican Tour really made our visit to Roma. Jay’s knowledge and insight was truly remarkable. It’s been many a year since I met a person so enthused by his work. Roman history/philosophy is obviously a passion of his and he was able to communicate this to the group.

We really enjoyed our tour of the Vatican with Mia. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. My teenager's thought she was "awesome" and really appreciated her ability to interweave the Greek history with the roman catholic history. We gained much more appreciation of the art within the Vatican. I also think it is appropriate that this was the focus over the religious history.
We also took the coliseum and Palatine Hill tour with Michael. He also was very pleasant and knowledgeable. There was much to see and the pace of the tour was balanced in seeing all but also allowing for pictures and pauses to appreciate the ruins. His humor was appreciated given it was pouring rain and he encouraged the group to interact and the feel was respectful and tolerant of questions and each other's differences.
Both guides were respectful of the culture, the guards, and surrounding tour groups and I appreciated this approach given sometimes Americans are seen as aggressive, and being American myself, I appreciate that Mia and Michael are representing our country so well in Rome!
We have already recommended your tour organization to individuals we encountered in Milan. (I work for a company that participates in multiple medical conferences worldwide and thus was at a conference in Milan that next weekend and recommended your tour group to several of my physician colleagues.)

We did a tour of the Vatican on Thursday, March 20 with your guide Maya. She was incredible. We had our 2 children on the tour (ages 8 and 12) and they were laughing with Maya the whole tour. She kept them involved with her funny stories about the Vatican. We also learned so much about Renaissance art from Maya that in Florence we kept on saying "remember Maya told us...".

Both tours were excellent! We really enjoyed them... even my 19-year old son who is quite easily bored. We learned a great deal, and saw much more than we would have seen otherwise in both cases, and understood much more about what we were seeing due your guides' vast knowledge of the locations. maya, our vatican tour guide, gave my husband and i the best tour we've ever been on! she's very energetic and just taught us so much...very factually based, yet added her own sense of humor.
in fact, maya taught us so much that we remembered much of what she taught us on the rest of our time in italy when we went to florence and venice. my husband and i would discuss when we looked at art or history and say...remember what maya taught us...this shows what she mentioned.
she was very endearing and we send her wishes from san francisco (her hometown)!
we also liked the fact that our tour group was small. it felt like you had a personal friendship with the tour guide instead of just staring at a colored tip of an umbrella as you're walking around with your headsets.

We took two different tours with Michael, the Colosseum tour and Ostia....he's just the greatest guide, extremely knowledgeable and patient with our questions.
I would recommend Presto to everyone for a fulfilling and awesome tour.
We took a tour to Tivoli with another company...and the guide was not every good at all, we were very disappointed in her plus it was a multiple language tour and they had assured us it was just for English speaking people.

Even if I had not received this enquiry from you, it was my intention to let Presto know just how good we thought the service was on our two fantastic tours this week. The tour of the Vatican Museum etc on Wednesday 16th was just great. Our guide, Ryan, was excellent and so informative and took such time to answer questions and to make sure that we saw as much as possible. He made it seem as fresh to him as it was to us, even although I know that he has taken thousands of people through the same experience.
On Thursday 17th we had the great privilege of touring the Colosseum, Palatine Hill and Forum with a real gentleman and expert from whom we learned so much. I am ashamed to say that his name escapes me......although I promise that I remember a great deal else of what he told us!!! He was wonderful.
I will recommend Presto to anyone I know who intends to visit Rome and hope to book with you again in the future.

We have been on tours with 3 different tour groups so far while in Italy and the Presto tour of Ancient Rome and The Colesium was by far the best. We can not for the life of us remember our tour guides name, but he was so informative and fun. I majored in Architecture while in college and some of the professors lectures where so boring. Our tour guide went over the same stuff but made it fun. If you can let us know the name of our tour guide that would be great. We would like to write a review on Tripadvisor.com and would like to recommend him.

This was our sixth trip to Italy but only our second to Rome. We enjoyed it so much that we hope to return many more times to Italy and we will certainly include Rome on any future visit. One of the highlights of our trip was our visit to the Vatican which was conducted by Presto Tours. The small number in our group contributed in very large measure to our enjoyment and the enthusiasm and depth of knowledge of our guide proved a major factor in making our tour so memorable. I must admit that when you book these tours on the internet you do feel a bit dubious and you always wonder whether the comments sent in by people are genuine but I can assure you this feedback is.
The booking side of the tour was very easy and the instructions sent back by email were easy to follow.
Our guide, Ryan, turned up exactly on time and took us on a tour of the Vatican and St Peter's Basilica that was thoroughly enjoyed by everybody in my party. He was so full of enthusiasm and interesting to listen to - pointing out little things that made the tour even more interesting - the three hours went by so quickly. We also agree that keeping the numbers in the party small is an excellent idea as with bigger parties you do not always get to hear everything.
I will certainly recommend you to any friends or acquaintances who wish to head off to Rome and when we go again we will certainly look to book one of your other tours.

Our overall experience was extremely positive. We found Ryan very well informed, thorough, approachable and a delight to be around for 3 hours or so. Our party, of four adults, came away feeling that the contribution of the Tour Guide enhanced the history and splendour of the Vatican and, consequently, this tour became the highlight of our short stay in Rome.

Matthew was an excellent guide and helped to make our visit memorable.

We loved our tour! My Mom has trouble hearing sometimes especially in crowds, I mentioned this to the guide, Steve, and he took extra special care of her. She stayed close to Steve and vice versa. The individual head phones were perfect for her, she was able to turn hers up. The tour of the Vatican Museum was her favorite tour. Our tours were wonderful and we learned so much from your guides. We used Presto for the Colosseum & Vatican City tours. We cannot speak highly enough of your tours. The guides we had (Mitra for Colosseum/Forum) and Ryan (Vatican Museums) were knowledgeable and personable. The presentations were well-paced and informative, and when we asked questions they could give us a great deal more depth. In other cities we used tour companies and none came up to the Presto standard. In many cases where there was an Italian guide, and while their English was fine, their accent reduced comprehension on some occasions. This affected other members of the tour party too.
When will you set up in Venice? Their tours were lightweight compared with yours.

Our experience with Presto was absolutely perfect. The tour guides were very knowledgeable, friendly, and enhanced our visits to the Vatican and Ephesus tremendously. In addition, we can't say enough good things about the drivers who met us at our hotel in Rome, drove us to the ship, and upon our return, drove from the ship to the airport. They were very punctual, drove safely, and the vehicles were comfortable. We will definitely contact Presto the next time we are planning a trip. Your company is terrific!!!!!

I'd have to say we had an outstanding experience with Presto tours. One thing that was interesting is that there were so many other tour groups that we actually had something to compare ours to. The Presto groups were smaller and more personal, which we really enjoyed. We actually got to ask questions of our tour guide, something I didn't see a lot of on other tours.
The guides were very friendly and knowledgeable and we learned quite a bit about each site (Roman ruins and Vatican).
Also, we ended up with flight issues which caused us to miss our original Vatican Tour and you guys stepped right up and rescheduled us for another day - that was fantastic and we really appreciate it.
I'd give you guys a solid "A".

This was the first time I made arrangements for limo service and a tour through the internet, so I didn't know what type of service to expect. The drivers with your limo service were courteous and prompt on both occasions, and the Vatican tour guide was extremely knowledgeable. He took the time to point out facts about the Sistine Chapel before we entered the museum so we would have a better understanding of what we were viewing and continued to point out facts and answer questions throughout our tour. We've just arrived home from Rome, and I couldn't wait to get on the computer and tell you how wonderful your guide Michael is!! My husband and I took the Vatican City/St Peter's tour this past Saturday(10/6). This coincidentally just happened to be our one year wedding anniversary. When we saw the line to get into the Vatican Museum, we were worried. But Michael kept us well informed and quite entertained. The stories he told and the information he shared were AMAZING!! (never redundant or boring). The most impressive thing is the fact that he stayed well past the scheduled tour time of 3hrs to make sure we were able to see everything. We would have loved to thank him personally, but we had an anniversary dinner scheduled soon after. We have friends traveling out to Italy next year and you can be sure PRESTO TOURS comes highly recommended!!

Of all the things we did while in Italy, the tour of the Vatican was perhaps the most informative and enjoyable part of our trip. It was time very well spent. Your guide, I believe his name was Ryan or Brian, was so great - really well versed in the history of the art, as well as the events that have taken place through the years. He was wonderful!!! Also, so appreciated the small size of the group and the headphones (last time I did the Vatican tour there were 35 or 40 people in the group and no headsets!)
We have already recommended your tour service to three or four other people we met while on vacation who were looking for a tour. We will also recommend your service to anyone traveling to Italy in the future.

We really enjoyed our trip to Rome and were so glad we chose to do our Presto tour on a Wednesday. We spent the morning walking around St. Peter's square, admiring the Basilica and dome from the outside, as well as the fountains, the colonade and listening to the Pope in this magnificent setting! We were ready and waiting for our tour group at 1pm and Mia was right on time. She is really fantastic and we cannot say enough about her. We were amazed with her knowledge of art history and how her obvious love for the subject matter kept our interest the entire time. She interjected funny stories, was very personable to each member of the small group and answered every question that was asked. She was also very respectful of the Vatican museum guides and security guards, always acknowledging them and saying hello (ciao!) There was no line to wait in, which was amazing.
You have done everything right as far as I can tell. Your website gives full information and once the tour is booked your meeting instructions were perfect. Even the time of day worked out great - I'm still amazed at no line to wait in to buy the tickets! And we feel lucky to have had Mia as our guide - she was the best! I will definitely recommend this tour to everyone.

Booking the tour was a snap, the experience was as advertised. The group was small, the guide spoke English with an English accent not Italian which was much easier to understand for us Americans. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and began answering questions while we were in line which took our minds off of our long wait. The directions to the meeting place was great, even we found it :)

We would like to thank you for your wonderful tours of the Vatican, Colosseum, Forum & Palatine Hill.
Jo, our guide on the Vatican tour on Saturday 8 September was so knowledgeable, we wouldn't have learned as much without her. The Tapestry Room at the Vatican Museums was wonderful, especially Jo pointing out a very interesting aspect on one of the tapestries. We would never have noticed, so thank you Jo, we will never forget! I will not disclose what the surprise is as I don't wish to spoil the tour. We know a lot of people who have visited the Vatican on their own but you do need a guide. Jo was so enthusiastic in her love of history and art.
Mike, our guide on the Colosseum, Forum and Palatine Hill Tour on Sunday 9 September was also wonderful in his knowledge and really brought everything to life with his descriptions, I could almost hear the crowds in the Colosseum way back in ancient times! Palatine Hill is breathtaking in proportions and without Mike we would have been wandering around trying to figure out things for ourselves.

Our group included three children, and Agnes was able to keep them interested in what we were seeing, as well as answer their many questions, and she also pointed out many things that might be of peculiar interest to children, though everyone in the group seemed fascinated by these details as well! Having taken other tours in Italy that were not booked through your company, I can say that yours was particularly well organized, prompt, kept the number of participants to a manageable level, and provided a guide who was easy to understand, well informed, and at ease talking to a group. We really enjoyed both of our tours
Daniella was our guide for the Coliseum and ancient ruins tour - she was fabulous, knowledgeable and energetic. She even escorted us to the Jewish ghetto and told us how to get to the Campo de fiore. The group was small and we were able to ask questions and interact without the limits of large groups. Elizabetha was our Vatican City tour guide - again she was wonderful. Her knowledge was unparalleled and she was so sweet and personable. I felt that my experiences with presto tours enriched my trip to Rome and added to the culture and fun of the city

Saturday, June 23rd at 11:00 and I believe our tour guide's name was Joanne
or Joanna. She was terrific! She was very knowledgeable about the art &
history of the Vatican Museums & spoke perfect English (I think she was from
Great Britain). She thoroughly explained the Sistine Chapel & what we were
going to see & gave us time to simply be amazed by it all. She encouraged &
answered all of our questions. The Vatican & St. Peter's Basilica are so
overwhelming that I can't imagine seeing it without the help of a Presto

We just got back from our Italy vacation last night. My husband and I had a
wonderful time. We spent the last three days in Rome. I want to thank you
for giving us our preference of tour guides. I had read comments about Maya
and thought she sounded terrific. We were not disapointed. She was very
knowledgable, entertaining, and patient throughout our private tour of
Vatican City. Both of us learned so much that we would have not been able to
gather on our own. We were a bit late for our tour because we had to walk
from the Collseum...couldn't find a taxi. Maya was very accomodating and
found a bar for us to get water and a sandwich to take on our tour. She
brought the history of the St. Peter's and the Vatican alive for us. I
cannot say enough about how wonderful of a guide she was...she would be an
excellent History professor!
By the end of the tour, we were sad to leave her. She really took
ownership of our well being and satisfaction. At the end, she even got us a
taxi and negotiated our fare!

We had the best tour guides! They were both so informative, interesting and
fun. Both were very knowledgeable--able to answer some tough questions from
our groups. To any of your future tour guests I would say this....Well worth
every penny we spent! In fact we will use Presto Tours again and will highly
recommend you to our friends!!!

Thank you Presto Tours…. you're number one in my book and will be highly recommended. This was the first time I made arrangements for limo service and a tour through the internet, so I didn't know what type of service to expect. The drivers with your limo service were courteous and prompt on both occasions, and the Vatican tour guide was extremely knowledgeable. He took the time to point out facts about the Sistine Chapel before we entered the museum so we would have a better understanding of what we were viewing and continued to point out facts and answer questions throughout our tour. Thank you Presto Tours for a wonderful experience.
