Visiting Piazza Venezia, the site of the enormous Vittorio Emanuele Monument (the Wedding Cake Building as the Romans call it), learn about the history of Mussolini, head to the beautiful Piazza Navona with live street performers, artists, Bernini's Fountain of the Four Rivers and Boromini's church of Sant'Agnese in Agone, the ancient ruins of Largo Argentina and the cat sanctuaries, the open air market at Campo dei' Fiori, once the piazza for public executions, the Pantheon in Piazza della Rotunda known as the greatest architectual feat of all time, Piazza di Spagna with the Spanish Steps and the Barcaccia Fountain, toss a coin in the Trevi Fountain to ensure a return to the Eternal City which you will admit cannot come soon enough once you feast your eyes on these masterpieces.
