This Vatican After Hours Tour is a splendid opportunity to visit the Vatican during its official closing hours. The Vatican Guards stay late for us to open its doors to those seriously passionate about its art. During the evening (either at 5:45 PM or 7 PM) we meet the Vatican guard and step into the palace of the Vatican Museums and regal ourselves and breathtaking visit with the Vatican's finest galleries.
The Vatican Museums hosts about 17,000 visitors per day. By visiting the museums during its closing hours, in an intimate group of only 10 guests led by a Presto guide, you will have all the ingredients for an absolutely unforgettable experience. The itinerary includes: the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Square.
Inside the Vatican Museums, we will visit the superior galleries: the Candelabri Gallery, the Arazzi Gallery, and the Gallery of the Maps. We also visit the beautiful Raphael Rooms.
For many, the highlight of the visit will be the Sistine Chapel where we will be able to visit with Michelangelo's paintings and soak in the ambience.
We will then take a stroll down to St. Peter's Square where you will see the piazza lit up under the night sky. This is a sight not to be missed! We will get to know renowned architect, Bernini's, optical illusions in St. Peter's Square and visit the spot where St. Peter himself was crucified. This area became the very foundation of the Catholic Church with Peter being its very first Pope.
