What is the difference between a 'group' and a 'private' tour? >

Good question. Our 'group' tours are group tours made up of a maximum of 10 guests. group tours are 'open' tours which means that you'll usually find yourself touring Italy alongside some other very hip Presto travelers like yourself! A great way to meet other travelers we might add.

Our 'private' tours are 'closed' tours which means you'd be touring exclusively with a Presto Tour guide. This is usually the ideal option for those who are looking to customize their tours to their individual tastes. It's also the best option to choose if you're traveling on a tight schedule and need the flexibility of starting the tour at a time most suitable to your travel itinerary.

If I sign up for a group tour, how many people should I expect to be on my tour? >

Presto takes pride in offering only small group tours (maximum 10 participants) as we believe that this highly enhances the touring experience. If you would like to tour in an even smaller group, private tours are available as well for a slightly higher fee.

How do I know if the tour itinerary I am interested in is available? >

Easy! When you enter the dates of your stay in our tour search, you will be returned with a list of all of our available tours. If you do not see a certain tour available on a certain date this is probably because the tour is fully booked. Remember, we have a maximum group size of 10 persons so in order to save your spot on a tour we recommend booking early.

Can I speak with someone regarding my upcoming trip and tour requests? >

But of course! If you would like to consult us with any questions about your visit to Rome give us a call! We like to chat with our guests whether you would like our advice on a customized tour, the Vatican dress code, Rome' s weather, or if you'd simply like to know that there are real live people behind our website!

Why Presto Tours? >

Simple! We boast a stellar team of tour guides who have extensive backgrounds not only in art, history, and Rome in itself but who also are wonderful with people. Does Presto Tours work with travel agents? >

Yes! If you are a registered travel agent interested in working with Presto Tours we would love to collaborate. We offer commission to all registered agents. In the notes section of the tour reservation include the details of your travel agency including your IATA number or travel professional association and mailing address so that we can send you out your commission promptly.

Does Presto work with large groups? If so, can we get a special rate? >

While our standard daily group tours are always limited to 10 persons, we do organize private tours for larger groups. We are happy to cater to groups who are traveling to Rome. If you need assistance in organizing your tours, leave it to us. Send your detailed request to info@prestotours.com or give us a call.

What is your cancellation policy? >

Presto Tours must be advised of cancellation in written form at least 7 days prior to the reserved tour date in order to receive a refund. All cancellations will incur a 15 Euro charge. If no written advisement is received at least 7 days before the reserved tour date, the guest will be charged in full for the tour and no refund will be provided.

Does Presto skip the long lines at the Vatican? >

Yes! Presto Tours is an officially recognized travel agent partner of the Vatican Museums. Presto Tours guests are privy to the Vatican Museums special VIP entrance and will skip the long, infamous line that develops at the Vatican City which could end up saving you up to 2-3 hours of waiting.

Once we finish the 3 hour Presto tour will we still be able to stay in the Vatican longer? >

After the tour you are able to stay inside St. Peter's Basilica as long as you like but unfortunately the Vatican tickets do not allow for re-entry into the museums and Sistine Chapel. How the Vatican ticket works is that once you leave the Museums/Sistine Chapel area of the Vatican to access St. Peter's Basilica, you cannot re-enter into the museums on the same ticket. If you'd like to spend extra time inside the Museums/Sistine Chapel then you could either decide to skip the St. Peter's Basilica segment of our group tour and part ways with your guide after the Sistine Chapel or you could re-enter the Museums/Sistine Chapel on a different ticket. If you decide to skip the St. Peter's Basilica segment of the tour please be sure to tell your guide in advance as your guide will worry if he/she has lost sight of you. Please note the cost of the tour does not change should you decide to skip the Basilica portion of your Presto Vatican Tour.

Where are Presto's meeting points for each tour? >

Once you have booked your tour online, you will receive an automatic email confirmation which details all tour meeting points, and provides precise directions on how to find us. You will also find a map and photo visuals to make it super easy to find our guides. Presto! Just like that.

Can we tour at a different time than is offered on Presto's website? >

Our Group Tours are only available at the times posted on the website. However, you are welcome to book a private tour for your desired tour time. On the checkout page you will be able to choose your tour start time.

Does Presto offer transportation? >

Presto Tours is pleased to arrange driving tours for our clients. However, we do not arrange transportation on its own as it is important for us to focus on our speciality, the educational element of traveling. If you are looking to arrange transportation from airports, ports, hotels, or to your next stop in Italy, we collaborate with some very friendly and professional drivers whom we would be happy to recommend.

Does my child have to pay an entrance fee? >

Presto Tours is glad to offer our group tours free of charge to children ages 5 and under. However, entrance fees are a separate cost.

Does Presto offer tours in other languages? >

We offer Private Tours in every language, however, our daily Group Tours are offered in English only.

Does Presto skip the line at the Colosseum? >

Yes. The Colosseum ticket fee is included in the all-inclusive Colosseum Tour price which enables us to purchase your tickets in advance. In this way, we skip the lines at the Colosseum. More time for learning and less time for waiting. That's how we roll.

Does Presto's Vatican Tour of St. Peter's Basilica also take us to visit the ancient necropolis and St. Peter’s Tomb (Scavi Tour)? >

Yes, our tour includes the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, and the main level of St. Peter's Basilica. We do not include the excavations area as this tour is run directly by an authorized archaeologist of the Vatican City. You can make a request for this tour by writing directly to the Vatican City Scavi Tour office at this email address: scavi(at)fsp.va When requesting a reservation, make sure to note how many people are in your party and what date range you would be available for touring. The more availability you provide to the office, the more luck you will have in securing a reservation. Also, it is notable that the minimum age for children to visit this area is 15 years-old.
Many of our guests join the Scavi Tour in the morning and then join our Vatican Tour in the afternoon or vice versa. Best of luck!

Does Presto skip line at the Accademia and Uffizi Galleries in Florence? >

Yes. Your ticket fee is included in the all-inclusive tour price which enables us to purchase your tickets in advance. In this way, we skip the lines at the museums. More time for learning and less time for waiting. That's how we roll here at Presto.

Does Presto cancel group tours if not enough people have signed up for them?>

No, we run our tours regardless of the number of people booked. We will never cancel your booked tour for reasons of a low number of participants.

Do Senior Citizens get discounts on entrance fees? >

Lots (but not all) of Museums and Sites throughout Italy offer price discounts for Senior Citizens who are EU Citizens and have the proper ID to prove age and EU status. If you qualify, make sure to have the proper ID with you on the day of your tour.

Do any tours include climbing the Dome in the Basilica of St. Peter's/Florence Duomo/etc? >

No, none of our group tours include in price or Itinerary a climb to the top of St. Peter's/Florence's Duomo/etc. The reason being that it is a physically demanding activity and takes quite a bit of time as well, which would exclude or disinterest many of our guests. But your Presto guide will be happy to indicate where you can go to do so after your tour is completed, should this be something that interests you! As for Private tours, they do offer flexibility in Itinerary, so climbing the Dome with your Private Presto guide is not entirely out of the question.
